Handwriting analysis or graphology is used in two separate applications. Handwriting analysis is used to make predictions about personality or likelihood of certain behaviours. In other cases, handwriting analysis may be used in the legal system to verify that a will is not forged, or to identify handwriting samples that have come from the same source.
The process of handwriting is connected to the central nervous system, the way in which a person writes may indicate certain personality types and traits.
Examining handwriting is supposed to allow the graphologist to probe into the depths of the author’s subconscious.
The idea behind graphology is that the subconscious often bubbles through in writing. By looking at how people use language and how they write, a trained examiner is supposed to be able to draw conclusions about the person.
